Yay! Oh my goodness. I'm sorry. I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Plus. Everybody know it. But today's topic is called God's protection. Thank you, Jesus. How does God protect us? God's protection. When the Holy Spirit gave me this topic, family, the first thing that came to my mind was his arms. God's arms. God wrapping his arms around me, just like when I fell and hurt myself as a little girl, I'd run straight to my mama crying, and she would kiss and hug me and tell me, don't worry, Joan Cecile, you'll be fine. Just to hear her say that made me know that whatever pain I was feeling would go away eventually. Family, that's how God protects us. He wraps and covers us with his arms of protection. It can be small, quiet ways like a delayed trip or getting godly advice from a friend or peace that you'll get in your heart when going through a rough season in life that we all go through. These are signs that he's with us and keeping us safe. It doesn't have to be loud or dramatic. The whole thing is God is mainly concerned with our faith, walk, and our souls, family. Paul used the metaphor of the whole armor of God that Margaret did, uh said last week in Ephesians 6, 10 through 17 to explain the spiritual protections he's put in place for us. God will protect us from danger or problem sometime, uh, but please know that trouble along with hardships is still a normal part of living, a believer, being a believer here on earth. He promised us that we will come out on top every time. It isn't always the way we like or the timing we choose, but it will always be the best way. Just like Paul told us in Romans 8.28 that everything will work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose. And he said in Romans 5, 3 and through 5, we can rejoice too when we run into problems, knowing that they will help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confidence, hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment, for we know how dearly God loves us. Thank you, Jesus. Uh, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. This song, and I as I stated last uh podcast, that came to me was no, never alone. He promised never to leave me, yeah, never to leave me alone. And that that really, I was singing that at work, and I know people think I'm crazy when I go on my singing rants, you know, because I be singing loud. No, never alone, no, never alone. He promised never to leave me. Never to leave me alone. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, thank you. He promised never to leave me alone. He promised to keep me in his arms when I'm down. He promised to keep me close when I felt like I was all alone. And I thank him. I thank him for this podcast. I thank him for the protection that he has around us in all times. He protects us. Oh Lord, don't get me started on God's protection because he protects us in times that we don't even know about. When we driving down the street, when we hit the room, somebody can be shooting and a bullet could go by your head. Thank you, Jesus, for your arms of protection around us at all times. And I know everybody kind of familiar with that song. I love that song. Yeah, he that dwell in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Thank you, Jesus. And uh, when I thought about that, I said sometimes, you know, uh we go along in life, you know, uh thinking that we're covered, and you know, we we count on our parents to protect us, and you know, we go to school, we look at, you know, our teachers, you know, they're there to help teach us and nurture us up and guide us and protect us. But it's not that when we grow up and get older, we we understand that it's something bigger than parents and teachers and and different people like that. But uh Psalms 91 tells us that you got to dwell in the secret place, first of all. If you want to get that divine constant protection, you have to, yeah, you you know, he that dwelled in the secret place. That well, you you have to be under his under him to be covered of him. And and and to, you know what I'm saying? When I was out there all wild and stuff, having an accident, I was in a uh head-on collision accident. I could have died. I saw my life just leaving me right there. It was a truck, and we was in a little small Vagus. You know those Vegas, they don't make them no more. And I just knew I was gone. I didn't, I wasn't under the shadows of the Almighty. I wasn't covered in God. I could have lost my life right there, but he had me, he preserved me for a reason. He protected me right then and there. Sure did. I didn't come out with a scratch or nothing, all that glass, wasn't bleeding or nothing, y'all. So I know God protects us. Yes, God protection divine.

I put divine. Did you say divine? It is divine protects. Yes, he is divine. When you talk about it, rain on the just as well as the unjust. But yeah. When June brought that to me, the first thing that came to my mind, I said, Well, God, he sees everything. Yes, he hears everything, and he knows everything. So that let me know he sees and knows what's gonna happen to me before it happens. And we have to uh realize that um what uh Jeremiah says he knows our thoughts before he knows the plans that he has for us, he knows the the welfare that he attends for our future. Yes, and his protection has been there from the beginning. And it's gonna be there to the end. He said he to the ends of the world, didn't he say that? Yes, sir. So uh I thought about that divineness of that protection. It doesn't make any difference how we live our lives because we are his children, regardless where we fall, whether we fall into sin, what we do, what we lack in, he's still gonna have that protection over us because he don't lie, he don't change.

So uh his divine protection covers us from the beginning to the day where we are now, and it's gonna take us to the end. Yeah, it's this the end of my life today. That's it. He the protect man. That's right. He said he'll never leave me nor forsake me. And I I appreciate that. June, you got me working too hard. You let me uh on this subject. Don't do this no more. I'm gonna work you, don't hang you back four, five times. I want to conclude no more what she said. I also thought you mean hanging. Give me five. What God got his hands on, what he placed his hands on.

That's it. And that's my conclusion. That's it, Sister Margaret. That's what I was gonna include, uh, conclude with. I did I didn't know God. I wasn't serving God. I was on the east side in the club coming home. Oh, deez. But see, God predestined my life. Yeah. So then I knew as I got older that that's why he preserved you, girl. That's why he kept you. Because he knew that that's mine. He protected me that day. Because I got a work for you to do. Amen. You know what I'm saying? Even though I know I wasn't serving God. Well, testimony. I knew of him. Amen. So that's that was my conclusion of the story. Yes. That God predestined my life. Yes. And he protected me. Not just that day when I tried to commit suicide and I died. They remap revived me twice in that ambalance. God was protecting me then. Yes. The enemy tried to take my take me out. But God said, no, this is mine. I have predestined her life. He knew. I wouldn't be here today to tell the testimonies if he hadn't protected me and covered me. That's right. And I didn't have sense enough to really serve you. Thank you, Lord. God is real. He's real. Yes, he is. Amen. He's real. Amen.

And God is Alpha and Omega. The beginning of the end. So if he's the beginning of the end, he sees all that's image. Yay! Even in the city. Amen. Foolish. There you go. Your role still leads to here. That's right. And that the image I got was a picture of the graph with all the peaks and the valleys. And when Godmother sent God's protection, the definition I had, piggybacking off Miss Margaret, which was my mama best friend. The divine promise and active power of the creator who shields God's, preserves his people from physical and spiritual harm. Yes, yes. But another thing I noticed when I was researching this is that it gave me heavy psalm scriptures. Yes. Psalms 91-4. That's where it leaves. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Another Psalms 121, 7 through 8 says, The Lord will keep you from all harm. The Lord will watch over your coming and going. Thank you. Thank you forevermore. Amen. You know, so this this, as Margaret said, Miss Margaret said, God's divine protection. You know, where will we all be without that? You know, uh, and and I'm glad she added the word divine. Because that's what it actually is. Too many times we are uh uh self-righteous and self-reliant anything we doing to keep us here. You know, God breathed the breath of life in you. Hey, you know, so he can he can breathe it in you and he can also take it back. You know, at his in his control. But you know, God's protection is so divine, like you say, sometimes we are, we don't know what we actually been saved from. Because we never, it he never let it come our way. That's right. That's what we're doing. Just think of some of the things when we were in last podcast, we were talking about uh being a slave to sin. And when I go to funerals now, that's all I could think of is like, I hope this person had the proper relationship with the Father. Amen. Because that's all that matters. That's all that matters. Amen. What they say to dash in between the dates, that's all that mattered. Did you have a proper relationship with Christ? Yes, you know, and God's protection, you know. Um man, this it's this this was just a wonderful topic.

You know, yes, yes. Yeah, I want to share what through my research the difference in recognizing versus understanding God's protection. Okay. What it means to recognize God's protection, this is the first basic step to see that God has watched over us and kept us from harm. He kept us safe before we even knew him. Like that. He has guarded us all this time. Guarded us. Don't say you locked up. Don't do it. Oh, I narrowly escaped. You ain't did nothing. Recognizing protection is noticing moments where something could have gone wrong but didn't. It's often emotional, or some people say it's uh have a good gut feeling, but it's actually discernment if you're saying I feel like God kept me from danger. You didn't feel like it, he kept you from danger. It doesn't require deep heavy proof. Just knowing that God showed up on time, it's usually tied to events like a near-miss accident, a closed door, uh a sudden peace that comes over you, or a small whisper or nudge in your spirit. Basically, recognition is seeing the hand of God. But understanding is seeing the heart of God. This is a deeper spiritual perception of why and how God protects us. Understanding protection means discerning God's motives, knowing his character and purpose behind his protection. It connects protection to scripture, covenant, which is a lasting promise, and God's nature. It sees protection not only in those intense moments, but in daily guidance. Thank you, Jesus, discipline and redirection. It recognizes that protection is sometimes guarding, rescuing, or helping us grow. So know the difference. Recognizing God's protection is awareness, understanding God's protection is interpretation, knowing the difference.

And then um and use some of uh the people that he physically protected in the his word, like David in Psalms uh 18-2. David speaks uh of the Lord as his rock, his fortress, as his deliverer and strong power in times of trouble. David, trouble followed David, and his name was King Saul. And this is Laz, this was not um last uh Saul was after David for a long time. Not weeks, not months, but years. And this wasn't just from hatred, it was from jealousy, and most of all, it was from pride. Pride comes before the fall. And he chases David for about 10 years trying to kill David.

But in the end, David got the victory and was crowned king. He got the chance to sit on that throne. You know, but uh we need to understand that what he did back then, he's still doing it today. He really is. Yes, um we don't know who's hating us, we don't know who in that prideful spirit. We don't know our enemies, we don't know our enemies, but God has covered us with his protection. Amen. And it could have been years. This person couldn't mind hating me for years. You know, and you don't know. We don't know. That's clear. But David knew. David knew, but he trusted God. See, that's that's what trust. We got to trust him even when we don't understand what's going on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. David didn't lose faith in God. And God kept him and set him on that throne. Amen.

Thank you, Jesus. Even when he says no, we have to trust him. Yeah. Because he knows you just said it. He knows he is afraid in America. He knows what's coming up there. That's right. We want this job so bad, so bad. Doors closed on us. Now we mad. God, you said you were gonna give me a good job, this and that and other, but I shut the door for some reason. Amen. You know, it's because of God. I'm trying to protect you from something. But we we get tempted tempted and hollering and screaming, you know, wearing our way. But God is trying to protect us from some. And I'm I'm it was hard for me to learn that too, you know. But I thought about Jonah when God compared that tree. He he let Jonah sit up under that tree for some shade. Now that's a sign of protection. Yeah. So you won't have no no uh what they call it, when the sun burns you up, your brain be fried. To save you and now you over here trying to kill, you know, something over here and and you know let them go about their business, you know, because I'm providing protection for them. But you sitting up under this tree, I provided this for you. You know what I'm saying? And sometimes we don't see it as God's protection. He put the shade on us, you know, he so that we won't burn up. That's right. But then we're trying to get out the shade and go over there and mind somebody else's business. Stay over there. Yeah, yeah. Stay over there.

He could have drowned it in the sea, but he had that fish there. Or whatever. That it was some men say well, some say great fish. But it was his protection. Because I got a purpose for you, Joe. Absolutely. And when I spit you up, you're gonna have to go through what I say do. Yeah. So um his protection really covers us, and we don't even understand.

No, we are unappreciative of it. Yes. And God was that's what he did. He sent that worm to destroy the okay. Since you ain't appreciate this, you all over everybody else being. He sent the worm and and ate it. And so that was it was over for him. I bet Jonah got up there. You know what I'm saying? I ain't trying to be funny first. Yeah. But we sometimes we just we don't recognize. June, can you say that one more time about the understanding of God's protection? Um over, you know, you know what I mean? We have to understand that that's that's his protection.

Yeah, yeah. Wow. Understanding God's protection is interpretation. Interpretation. Uh discerning God's motives, his character. There you go. And purpose behind the purpose behind his protection. Just like God rescued you from them car accidents, he it was a purpose in that protection. Thank you, Jesus. So don't think that you narrowly escaped nothing. Not you personally, but you know, but there is somebody out there that thinks that they did it all, but God, guess what? God has kept you here for a reason. And a lot of people escape, narrowly escape because of God's protection, but they don't take it and run with it. They keep doing what they do.

It's I was just thinking about like these guys out playing all this street activity. Some of them have been shot or near death. They survive that, and the first thing they don't do is run into the house of the Lord.

That's right. And brother, I know somebody personally didn't got shot. And when they got shot, they got shot six times. And the mama thought they was gonna die right then and there at the hospital. The Lord brought them through. She was a praying woman. Then they said they ain't gonna be able to walk no more. Got up and started playing basketball for the uh the March Madness and still ain't trying to blindness. That's what you said.

I can't see it. It's a miracle, uh it's a wonder. That's the best word uh to me. I wonder because I know I was blinded for 55 years though, and that's a long time to be in the world. But once I realized God shook me, I pray that everybody is shook early. Because people are leaving here early in age. Age ain't got no I I used to think, ooh, old folks showed that. No, young people are leaving here just as quick as older. Amen. And I pray that you understand, whoever's listening, understand that God is keeping you here for a reason, especially those of us who love the Lord, that believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. If you are a true believer, stop playing with your protection.

People are playing with their protection. But Psalms 91, you said it's a bunch of Psalms. Read Psalms 91. I cried when I read that whole book. The book of uh Psalms 91 is so good, it's full of promises regarding God's protection, how he keeps us. It's called the protection chapter, to be exact. Yeah, uh, it tells us that these powerful protections are for those who live in the shelter of God, the Almighty. Yeah. Uh that that means spending time with him and making him first place, first place in our lives. That's the key. Yep. How many of us don't make God first place in that race?

Or even a priority at all. Right. Like is you you gotta start somewhere. Like we've did everything you could think of worldly, and then guys get the leftovers. You know, I think that was one of the biggest things these last few weeks. Uh deciding if I was staying or going to a different job that was the deciding factor. Like, I just started to attend Bible study regularly. I have Vent 101 every other Saturday. Like, I don't want, I don't want a job that takes me out of the wheel of God.

You know, and that's the the that's a growth mindset that's different for me now than, you know, uh being less mature in my walk. You know, but that was a deciding factor. I'm like, man, I don't want to start, stop going to Bible study. I was just starting. And in Bible study, we were studying spiritual warfare. So it goes back to what you said at the last podcast. I was like, wow, all of this lines up, you know, as how to uh uh get out of the bondage, you know, uh learning the protections, uh learning how to uh speak to your mountain and all that. So yeah, God's protection is is just is just it is just more vast than what we really understand for believers and non-believers. You know, um, like core aspects of divine protection, presence over absence. It does not mean a life free from trials. It means God stays with you through hard times. Yes, yes, spiritual or physical defense, it covers the soul and mind from despair as well as guarding the body from unseen dangers. Yes, a higher purpose is the one that stood out to me. Difficulties or delays are something that very sometimes the very means God used to redirect or safeguard a person's path. You know, like it reminds me of uh of traveling from point into point. When when I was coming here, I I get to the Metrolink train track, and I know that's normally one either going or coming. Gates up, the gates ain't rising. So I'm sitting there, but I'm looking at the clock, like, man, I'm I'm not trying to be late either. Because I text, I'm like, the gate ain't rising. So I said, forget it. I'll back up, I'll pick a different route. Now, who knows what was on the other side of the railroad track that God protected me from on my way here this morning.

You know, so I don't look at it as an inconvenience, though. No, yeah, that's good. Sometimes Satan is presenting it as an inconvenience when it's actually God's divine protection. All right, you know, like, man, I wanted to go, but my car wasn't stored, or I couldn't afford to spend the money, or those types of things. Don't look at them as inconvenience, look at it only as God's divine protection. He was protecting you from something that was unseen, unknown to you. You know, at the time.

Yeah, yeah. Amen. And I want to give a different uh uh give you all some instances on what we as believers should know about God's protection. Rich just said, it's both physical and spiritual. Yeah, old testaments like uh Exodus 14, parting of the Red Sea and Daniel 6, the lions then show God's power to deliver physical danger. In the New Testament, John 28, 29 through 20, 10, 28 through 29 assures believers of eternal security. I give them uh eternal life that they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me. Thank you, Jesus, for my father has given them to me. Excuse me, and he is more powerful than anybody else. No one can snatch them from the Father's hands. This means God protects us from spiritual harms and ensures, ensures our ultimate safety. But God's please take note, God's protection does not mean a life without trials, family. Uh believers may still face difficulties, but God is present through them. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendigo were thrown into a fiery furnace, yet God protected them because he closed the lion's mouth in with Daniel. Jesus said in John 16, 33, in this world you will have trouble, but I have come to overcome the world. Uh the point is not to avoid all hardships, but to know that God walks with us in them. During them, yes, through them, despite them. Hey, thank you, Jesus. Thank you. I'm so I love this. Thank you, Jesus, for protection, Lord. Thank you. But reckon we need to recognize God's protection. Uh believers can recognize his protection through prayer, faith, and the peace of God. Philippians 4, 6 through 7. Uh, the Holy Spirit is also a constant reminder of his presence in John 14, 16 through 17. When we trust him, we can discern his guidance and comfort in daily life. Daily life. We gotta trust in God's timing. We said it. Amen. Sometimes protection may be delayed, but God's timing is perfect. Perfect. Yes. Amen. Even in uncertainty, his faithfulness is sure. That's Isaiah 41, 10. I will never leave you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31, 6. If I'm going too fast, please forgive me. Uh says, so be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you or abandon you. Thank you, Jesus, for going in front of me and being behind. Thank you for that full-blooded protection. Yes, God. Oh, Lord, thank you, Jesus. Thank you.

But you got the same thing. I do, but you know what? Seriously. We have lots of the same uh scriptures. Uh I was just looking at this one. Um in Psalm 5, it said, but let all, and you know what? I did not write the verse down, but it's in Psalm 5. But let all those who put their trust in you rejoice. Yay! Thank you, Jesus. Because you defend them. Yes. And Psalm 34, 19 say, many are in distress. Many are the distress of the righteous, but God delivers them out of them all. So He got us covered in all directions. It doesn't make any different what it is. He can handle it all. He got us covered. We don't have to worry about him pulling the blanket off of us. Hey! Amen. Amen. We have to be still and just know that he's God.

A job opportunity suddenly disappears. A relationship ends unexpectedly. A plan falls apart. Talk about it. You never know. Yeah, that's God's protection.

She said, give it three days and see. So I'm like, okay, I'm gonna give it three days. Because I'ma yield to this. If you were told to prophesy this to me, I'm gonna yield to it. Oh yeah. And it wasn't even three days. It was by that next morning.

Are you an experience and an unexpected delay, just like you did this morning? Yes, man. Delays can feel frustrating, but they can serve as protective purpose. And I'm so I'm a stickler for leaving out from work at a certain time. I used to get mad at myself because dang, I left my phone in the co in the house. Gotta go back up these doggone steps and get dang, I gotta turn around and go get this. But now I say thank you, Jesus. It was not for me to be on that road at this particular time. Go ahead. You gotta thank God for things unseen. Amen. Thank him for causing that delay. God removes a person from your life. Sometimes protection involves separating you from somebody that may have influenced you negatively. So you can't do what God told you to do. At first, losing that relationship may feel painful, but over time you will see that the separation protected your emotional or spiritual well-being. And that's one of we being in our humanness, it it will send you into a spiritual funk sometimes, if I can say that. And if he removes somebody out of your life, it's for a reason. You may never know why that person was uh moved from your life, but still you can love them, pray for them, because sometimes you will hurt people's feelings unknowingly because God can remove you from out of somebody's life. And I'm like, dang, I ain't talking to him or hurting a lot of time, what's going on? But then I'll call somebody, you know. Hey, how you been? I love you, and they say I love you too, but you don't know what somebody's going through. You don't know what spiritual ties sometimes I'll go on the record and say sometimes you can get too safe for people. And I understand that I'm calling it too save, but you can separate yourself, you unknowingly from people because they don't want to be around you uh for being uh who you are in Christ. And that can hurt too. Yeah.
